Black Film Wire Becomes JIFF 2027's Official Media Partner, Bridging African Cinema and One of the World's Fastest-Growing Film Markets.
Partnership marks BFW's first collaboration in India, connecting African and diaspora storytelling with Bollywood's booming industry.
JAIPUR, INDIA / ATLANTA, GA - September 17 2026, Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) today announced Black Film Wire (BFW) as its Official Media Partner for JIFF 2027, taking place January 8–12, 2027, in Jaipur, India. The partnership marks Black Film Wire's first media collaboration on the Indian subcontinent and JIFF's first with a media outlet dedicated to African and Black diasporic cinema.
As Media Partner, BFW will provide media coverage of JIFF 2027, including a pre-festival press release, a dedicated feature article, and post-festival recap coverage. The partnership also includes a dedicated industry-education session on the African and Diaspora film industry, with BFW invited to participate as speaker(s)/panelist(s).

Founded in 2009, JIFF marks its 19th edition in January 2027, having grown into one of India's most internationally recognized film festivals, drawing hundreds of films from dozens of countries each year. The festival is held in Jaipur, Rajasthan's "Pink City" and a UNESCO World Heritage City, known for its rose-hued old town, historic forts, and Rajasthani architecture and hospitality.
"This is our first partnership on that side of the world, and the timing feels right. Bollywood crossed ₹13,395 crore [roughly $1.4 billion] at the Indian box office in 2025, its biggest year on record, with Hindi cinema alone posting a record 41% share of that market. The global box office is projected to reach $35 billion in 2026, and India is one of the markets driving that growth. If Indian cinema is commanding that kind of scale, African and diaspora cinema needs to be building real bridges into that conversation, not just watching from the outside. We're happy to be part of that work with JIFF, and we're looking forward to curating some very special programming together as we go," said Sahndra Fon Dufe, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Black Film Wire.

About the Partnership
The collaboration runs from pre-festival promotion through JIFF's January 8–12, 2027 dates, with post-festival coverage concluding by January 15, 2027. As part of the agreement, BFW will receive official Media/Promotional Partner recognition across JIFF's website, event materials, and festival branding, along with accreditation, access to JIFF's industry programs, and unrestricted access to the Jaipur Film Market across all festival and market days.
