FAME Week Africa, in partnership with MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, has announced the MultiChoice Group Premium Drama Call for Projects, inviting producers across Africa to submit original drama series concepts for potential commissioning.

The call is looking for high-concept, contemporary drama series that are commercially appealing, action-driven and rooted in authentic African stories. Projects should explore universal themes, offer aspirational storytelling and have the potential to connect audiences across at least two African territories.

Projects can submit concepts in any African language, English or French, as long as their cultural authenticity remains central to the project.

This commissioned series is expected to run for approximately 8–12 episodes, each around 50 minutes.

This is a dedicated commissioning opportunity developed around MultiChoice Group's content needs and is separate from the FAME Week Africa Project Pitch Platform. For African producers with a project that can travel beyond its home territory while remaining deeply rooted in its culture, this could be one worth exploring.

Submission: Producers interested in the opportunity should review the official call requirements and submission details on FAME Week Africa and complete the form HERE.

Deadline: African producers can submit original, high-concept, action-driven drama series until 18 September 2026. Shortlisted creators will pitch directly to a joint commissioning panel at the event running from 28–30 October 2026 in Cape Town.
