Keke Palmer has spent years breaking barriers in Hollywood, and her latest film, One of Them Days, is another step forward. Known for her effortless charisma, impeccable comedic timing, and ability to command any screen, Palmer stars alongside Grammy-winning artist SZA in this 2025 buddy comedy that delivers humor, heart, and a fresh perspective on friendship.

Keke Palmer’s ability to captivate audiences isn’t just limited to the big screen; social media recently erupted with comparisons between her and the legendary Whitney Houston. A viral trend emerged after fans noticed similarities in their mannerisms, humour, and vibrant personalities, leading many to suggest that Palmer should star in a Whitney Houston biopic.

Palmer has been a force in entertainment since childhood, starring in Akeelah and the Bee (2006) and later making waves in projects like Hustlers and Nope. Beyond acting, she has carved out a space as a singer, TV host, and producer, consistently pushing boundaries for Black women in Hollywood.

Her latest move? Headlining and executive producing One of Them Days, a hilarious and heartfelt R-rated comedy about two best friends, Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), who find themselves in financial turmoil after Alyssa’s boyfriend blows all their rent money. What follows is a wild adventure full of mishaps, revenge, and unexpected life lessons

One of Them Days stands out as the first R-rated female-led Black comedy since Girls Trip (2017). Produced by Issa Rae and directed by Lawrence Lamont, the film boasts a talented cast, including Maude Apatow, Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James and Katt Williams.

The chemistry between Palmer and SZA is a highlight. Critics have praised Palmer’s ability to elevate even the simplest comedic moments with her distinctive delivery and natural presence. Slant Magazine noted that while the film plays with familiar tropes, Palmer’s wit and comedic timing make it an engaging experience.

The film opened in January 2025 and quickly gained traction at the box office, pulling in $11.8 million in its first weekend. While some analysts believed it could have done even better with stronger marketing, One of Them Days still secured solid numbers and a devoted audience

With One of Them Days, Palmer cements herself as not just a talented actress but a powerhouse producer and creative force. Her ability to bring authenticity, energy, and humour to every role makes her one of Hollywood’s most versatile and influential stars today.

As she continues to break barriers, one thing is certain Keke Palmer is here to stay, and we can't wait to see what she does next.
