The stakes—and the emotions—are higher than ever in Final Destination: Bloodlines, the long-awaited sixth installment of the iconic horror franchise, landing in theaters and IMAX on May 16. The film, which currently holds a 93% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes (as of May 13, 2025), delivers both high-octane thrills and an unexpectedly heartfelt farewell.
The late Tony Todd, whose legendary presence defined the franchise as the enigmatic mortician William Bludworth, makes one of his final onscreen appearances in Bloodlines. His death in November 2024 left a profound void in the horror world, adding emotional weight to his last performance.
Franchise producer Craig Perry reflected on Todd’s final role in a recent interview:
“We all knew that he was obviously quite ill, and it was pretty clear that this was going to be the last role he would play in a movie. And the fact that it was one of the Final Destination movies made it that much more poignant.”
With Bloodlines, the franchise comes full circle—bringing fresh terror, jaw-dropping set pieces, and a reverent goodbye to one of horror’s most unforgettable icons.
Final Destination: Bloodlines opens exclusively in theaters and @IMAX on May 16.
